Traveljunkieindonesia.com – Last Saturday, I was invited to special dine at Shang Palace, an elegant and tranquil restaurant features classic provincial Chinese cuisine.

The skilled, imaginative Chinese chefs prepare wide selections of Cantonese and other traditional delicacies.

Shang Palace is featured with tranquil look combining contemporary and classic Chinese decor. It was large and spacious.. and it had a ‘fine dining” feel to it.

Well, for my entree – chilled fresh tiger prawns with homemade orange sauce, sichuan hot and soup with crab meat, and Shang Palace Peking duck, two courses, 2nd course – fried with black pepper sauce. And my eyes nearly popped out of my head. This is my entree??? it was HUGE.

However, it was FANTASTIC.

A little later, my mains arrived. It was the fried rice with assorted seafood and X.O. sauce, homemade bean curd with vegetarian ham, shimeji mushrooms and dried scallops, beef shabu-shabu, and peking duck with black pepper sauce.

It was a good sized portion, I felt a bit faint.

However, I appreciated that this was their signature dish and that this recipe is based on traditional cuisine. I really enjoyed it.

Lastly, I chose the Chilled mango sago cream and it was goooood. It was so soft, moist, light and fresh.

It was just AMAZING to eat.

My friend and I had a lovely time. The atmosphere was great, the portions were good, prices were fine, and the food was tasty.

I would definitely take travel junkies, parents and family here for a nice homey Chinese meal.
