When I Kissed The Fort Rotterdam

Thetraveljunkie.org – We travelled to Makassar for the second year in a row to attend one of our favorite heritage spots, the Fort Rotterdam. The original fort was rebuilt in Dutch style after the Treaty of Bungaya in 1667. Inside the fort, Museum La Galigo has an assortment of exhibits, including rice bowls from Tana Toraja, kitchen tools, musical instruments and various costumes.

If you like heritage, architecture, art, culture, fashion or history – which is great novelty of this place – the Fort Rotterdam is definitely a must visit if you’re in Makassar.

We’ll be back next time!

Just a note, if you are thinking of coming please leave no trash behind. And take with only memories, photos and videos.
