Thetraveljunkie.org – We had a wonderful time in Byron Bay! Byron Bay is an idyllic coastal town in New South Wales, Australia. It’s known for its crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, surf, and relaxed lifestyle. We visited Byron Bay for a weekend getaway and we had an amazing time. We stayed at a hotel that was centrally located and offered easy access to all the major attractions in town.
We went to Wategos Beach and Lighthouse on our first day in town and it was beautiful! It’s one of those places where you could spend hours just swimming in the ocean or laying out on the beach. We stayed until sunset and watched as the sun set over the ocean. The water temperature was perfect for swimming too!
Last day, we visited Nimbin, a great way to experience the alternative culture of the region. The town is known for its colorful murals, hippie lifestyle, and relaxed vibe. And it’s great that we were able to catch up with Dadang Christanto, an internationally acclaimed Indonesian artist whose painting and installation practice honours the victims of crimes against humanity who lives in Grevillia.
