Dinner at The Meat & Wine Co, Melbourne – Victoria

Traveljunkieindonesia.com – One chilly night, my friends and I went to dinner at The Meat & Wine Co, Melbourne.

Over a glass of red wine and banquet dining we gossiped about our great loves… fashion, heritage and #RestaurantAustralia campaign.

Regular readers will know how much I love Melbourne. I am so excited to tell you all about this update. This place is just gorgeous.

Established in 2000 to provide a unique and exceptionally enjoyable steakhouse dining experience, The Meat & Wine Co caters for meat lovers in a sophisticated yet relaxed environment.

And, strive to create an esteemed and dynamic dining experience, with an equal dedication to African heritage and references to the unique Australian surroundings.

When we arrived, I could smell the meat from far outside the restaurant already. At that time, we were seated in the 2nd floor and got a quite nice atmosphere.

We ordered starters to share:

Portuguese Prawns – Char-grilled prawans, eschalots and a creamy Portuguese sauce, served with a cabbage, capsicum and brown rice pilaf.

OMG! The creamy Portuguese sauce was great, I think to ordered that sauce in my next visit.

Beetroot Carpaccio – Ginger infused beetroot, fresh orange, baby watercress, crumbled Milawa Ceridwen ash goats cheese, shaved fennel & toasted walnuts with fresh lemon and olive oil.

This is very well-prepared, good cooked, balanced and fresh.

I ordered Lemon & Herb Chicken – grilled chicken breast served with a summer witlof salad and brown rice oilaf with cabbage and capsicum.

After waiting for around 15 minutes, our mains came altogether. I was so happy to have it perfectly cooked.

And of course they served a great quality the meat was very tender, succulent and juicy, perfectly fit my taste.

Farmhouse Lamb Shanks – Lamb shanks slow-cooked with celery, onion, carrot and herbs, served with garlic mash.

Lamb Chops – Herb salted lamb loin chops served with Desiree potatoes in a sage and wild herb salt crust, fresh lemon and Greek village salad.

In short, we were a greedy meat eaters that day!

Service was very good, with our waitress being friendly, spoke bahasa Indonesia and efficient. Indonesian sambal is with compliments of our waitress, kisses!

Overall, one of my favourite restaurants to go to.  Fantastic tasty food!

We had a great dinner time and I definitely will go back when I am craving for a good steak and meat. I could say that your spent in Meat and Wine Co. is totally worth with all the aspects you get such as the foods, wines, service, atmosphere and even the hype location.

I would definitely come back and try some entrees and desserts. We left with happy bellies…

It was such a fabulous start to the night.
