Thetraveljunkie.org – On today’s post we visit Hofbräuhaus, a feast for the senses, with an oompah band and waiters in dirndl and lederhosen balancing armsful of Maß frothing with Hofbräu Original, a Munich Helles lager brewed according to Reinheitsgebot standards. Hofbräuhaus once brewed beer exclusively for the royal court. Starting in 1828 an inn was established in the brewery. Today Hofbräuhaus is the meeting place of native locals and travel junkies from all over the world. And, you’ll need an eagle eye to spot any empty seats.
If you know us and follow us on social media you probably know we come here. The place is an impressive combination of breathtaking interiors, vaulted ceilings, and a rustic, timber charm. Offering classic Bavarian food, a range of beers (our favorite were the white beer, sausages and sauerkraut) and a rowdy, authentic energy, it’s a must-try when in Munich.
Have you been to Munich’s Hofbräuhaus? What did you learn during your visit? Did you enjoy your time there?
