Traveljunkieindonesia.com – Eeeek I am so excited to tell you all about this update. I was kidnapped by Tourism and Events Queensland and Garuda Indonesia to special dinner at Mecca bah, Gold Coast.

So this was something different for us.

Mecca Bah provides a modern interpretation of Moroccan and Middle Eastern cuisine in a spectacular setting that will you away to another world. Morrocco has never seemed so tempting.

It felt like we were entering a ‘middle eastern’ – warm and cosy, a sleek and modern, complete with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, chocolate brown hues and an eclectic feel.

The exotic selection and also the quality of food was exceptional, and the atmosphere they have created there is fantastic.

This was my first time eating Moroccan food in Gold Coast.

The waiters extremely helpful with ordering.

We began our Middle Eastern feast with Mecca Bah dips & bread of Hummus, Labna and Baba Gannouj.

I love their delicious nutty hummus, smooth labna and smoky aubergine in the baba gannouj.

And continued with Hot Turkish bread and Beetroot, rocket and yoghurt salad to share.

From spicy Moroccan tagines, we had chicken with tomatoes, almond, sesame and honey. they all looked great.

The chicken was cooked really well – It was just so tasty, very tender and a delight to eat.

And the Grills, we had Moroccan Spiced Calamari with Tuscan Bean Salad.

The squid was tender and soft with a beautiful spice mix and the beans, red onions were lightly dressed with a fresh lemon and oil dressing.

Mecca Bah is pretty famous for their Moroccan pizzas on thin pita-like bases. We had Spit roasted lamb, rocket, yoghurt and sumac pizza to share.

You won’t find tomato sauce and mozzarella here, just succulent meat topped with fresh leaves and a zesty yoghurt sauce, all held together with the crisp flatbread.

The presentation was simply and extraordinary. A highly recommended pizza.

I really enjoyed it.

For a sweet finish, we had Basbousa with Orange syrup and Chocolate & Turkish delight brownie with chocolate sauce served with ice cream. It was so moist and stellar.

Overall, the entrees and mains had a very home-cooked, simple, good “honest food” taste to them.

I felt quite good that we ate Morrocco food tonight. So I really enjoyed the whole experience.

Macca Bah isn’t cheap or expensive, but in a world that increasingly thinks casual is good enough, it’s great to have a restaurant that aims high.

We recommended sharing for the ultimate Mecca Bah experience. Try it and tell me what you think.

I’ll definitely come back during the day to try the lunch menu, and eat some vegetarian meals.
