Exploring Underwater in Karimunjawa Islands

Thetraveljunkie.org – During our holiday down in Karimunjawa Islands, we visited some tropical tiny islands. And the boat was waiting for us to spend the rest of the day under the sea again and again. The colours were just amazing. The water was calling me, so we grabbed a mask, fins and jumped in without much thought. Oh gosh! We instantly loved it!

We started snorkelling around some big corals, which had a strong current and we drifted through beautiful little lines. We were like silly kids, gleefully playing, laughing and free diving. The water was so clear. We saw lots of fish and our feet were tickled by weird looking seaweed.

On this trip, we were guided by our boat captain, sea gypsy full of knowledge about underwater biodiversity. In traditional sustainable style, he speared only one fish for his own lunch.

We bobbed up and down in the water and we wanted to burst from happiness. We floated on our back and looked up to the sky, and every thing around us were blue blue blue, aqua blue, ocean blue, dark blue, green blue, sky blue, light blue, blue blue blue. It was just such a thrilling experience.

My main thought was, we have to do more stuff like this.

Just a note, if you are thinking of coming please leave no trash behind. And take with only memories, photos and videos.
