Thetraveljunkie.org – The other morning we went to Sampran Riverside traditional weaving station for make a fish from coconut leafs.
It’s a lost art, not many youngsters know how to make these. As demonstrated to me, who herself learned it from a wizened old Thai craftsman.
What you need: Two long green coconuts leafs.
01). Take one of the leafs and wrap it twice around your left index finger, leaving two loops.
02). Take the second leaf and slide it behind the first frond’s first loop, but through the second loop.
03). Now, take that second leaf and wrap the right half of it back around the second loop of the first leaf, passing it through the lower loop of the first frond and…
04). Tighten and voila. So interesting right?
