Katsukura Tonkatsu Party, Ueno Station, Tokyo – Japan

Traveljunkieindonesia.com – After exploring Harajuku, my friends and I ready for lunch. So we went for lunch at Ueno Station which has many good and famous dining outlets.

Ueno Station has a futuristic layout and it is a vast complex with restaurants and shopping mall.

Our lunch is the famous Katsukura. English menu is available for travel junkies like us. Apparently, this is one of the premium Tonkatsu restaurant in Japan.

The place had a great vibe and atmosphere, with wooden, modern, and fresh.

All the wait staffs were super friendly, cheerful and helpful.

So I felt better!

My order of the Ton-Katsu Zen-Set which comes with a Tenderloin cutlet zen-set.

Each order came with barley rice, miso soup and pickled vegetables.

They also use raw bread crumbs that becomes extra crispy after frying. The crisp and cold cabbage went well with their Citron dressing.

We were served sesame seeds and from observing other diners, we did the right thing too. We have to ground the sesame seed with the mini mortar.

Once the sesame seeds are grounded, add in the various sauces to own preferences. This is the dipping sauce for our tonkatsu.

Worth mentioning is their special miso soup which came with the set. The miso soup is full of miso and flavours. I asked for refills of the soup because it was so good.

The tenderloin was crispy on the outside and yet the meat inside was juicy, tender, and flavourful. Absolutely delicious!

And the best part of this meal is, they give you unlimited refill of cabbage, barley rice and miso soup.

Overall we left with happy bellies.

I will definitely be back!
