Memories From Umbul Manten, Klaten

Thetraveljunkie.org – I headed over to Solo with my friends. I woke up at 7am to have a dip. It was divine. One morning we took a walk down to one of springs in Klaten. The spring is called Umbul Manten. The actual entrance to the spring was cut through rice field and you had to walk down some steep steps. It’s an incredible natural space where you can enjoy nature while having the place to yourself. We still wonder whether our stay was nothing but a dream. It certainly seemed so.

We went there early, around 11am. It was a good idea to go early, because by 3pm I saw huge groups of people were trying to get onto the spring.

I had a swim out into the spring. The water was lovely and fresh. The gentle ebb of the water was soooo relaxing.

The spring was actually quite small. And by noon, it was rather crowded that I was almost stepping on other people’s towels to let people pass me.

My friends and I had a fantastic time. I would LOVE to come visit again.

Just a note, if you are thinking of coming please leave no trash behind. And take with only memories, photos and videos.
