Traveljunkieindonesia.com – Sweden’s Acid House Kings return with their 5th full length recording since 1991. AHK has specialized in timely delays between recordings; Joakim Ödlund along with founders, the Angergård brothers often take years between recordings to fine tune complete pop productions. “Music Sounds Better With You” began production in 2007 but plays like a 90s indie-pop artifact just in time for spring-summer.

It’s hard to go into explicit detail on Music Sounds Better With You, simply because of how happily delightful it is. Comparisons to Belle & Sebastian and Camera Obscura are both inevitable and unfair, since Acid House Kings predate both – however, it doesn’t help any that the guitar on Are We Lovers Or Are We Friends? sounds almost exactly like a fuller version of B&S’s Asleep On A Sunbeam, or that frontwoman’s Julia Lannerheim’s gentle coo on Would You Say Stop sounds a hell of a lot like Traceyann Campbell on The Sweetest Thing.
But, in the end, when the music’s this good – who cares about the similarities? I love Music Sounds Better With You by Acid House Kings for my lovers in safe travels 🙂
