Phra Sumen Fort Bangkok

Thetraveljunkie.orgBang Lamphu is one of our favourite areas in Bangkok. Its areas are the most photogenic and it’s best place to get lost in between the city’s tuktuk taxi and do some shopping. A short walk away, you will find Phra Sumen Fort, one of the two remaining forts in Bangkok. It was constructed during the reign of King Rama I in 1783 along with 14 other octagonal forts to protect the capital from invasions.

It’s surrounded by the green Santi Chai Prakarn park named by King Rama IV. You can enjoy a pleasant walk and see nice view of the river there.

It’s on our list of places to go back to when we’re next in the city!
