Snorkeling In Karimunjawa Islands, Central Java

Thetraveljunkie.org – There are two types of people: those who enjoy a relaxing holiday under a palm tree and those who want to go on a activity holiday. We’re part of the second group and that’s why when we stayed in Karimunjawa we organised a snorkeling trip around the Karimunjawa islands, Central Java. Base on a true story, Nazi U-boat sunk during Second World War is discovered in Karimunjawa Islands – complete with skeletons of its doomed crew.

We woke up at 7am and we went to dock from our hotel, Ayu Hotel. The boat was waiting for us to spend the rest of the day under the sea. It was a totally incredible experience – amazing to see all the different creatures that call the sea home. As my eyes slowly got used to the underwater light, I looked around and there were fish everywhere! They were swimming happily, around me, and between all the people in the water. We think that Indonesia is one of the best places to do it in.

I dived down, deep into the water and looked up at my bojo swimming above me. Sunlight streaming down, between bubbles, between floating in things in the water. It was so peaceful to bob up and down in the water, be still, and watch all the LIFE surrounding me.

Yay for snorkeling!

Just a note, if you are thinking of coming please leave no trash behind. And take with only memories, photos and videos.
