Thetraveljunkie.org – The Bojoku were picked up from Luang Prabang International Airport, Laos, and taken to our hotel Maison Dalabua, a little oasis of peace and tranquility. A friendly and efficient checkin and we were shown to our room. The name Dalabua means ” Lotus Princess ” which perfectly describes the refreshing character of this charming boutique hotel surrounded by UNESCO classified ponds.
Maison Dalabua is a lovely sanctuary and a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of life. The hotel is a quick walk from the historical centre with easy access to the night market, royal palace and historical temples and buildings.
Our room overlooked the stunning pool area and the beautifully manicured gardens. The room was just how we like it. Modern and minimalistic. We loved the concrete and clean lines especially of the bathroom. The toiletries were fresh and smelt great and the shower was hot with great pressure. The bed linen was soft and crisp.
Room decor included cotton threads from local weaving tools and little touches like woven baskets for toiletries and gorgeous green glassware.
We spent our afternoons sipping cider by the swimming pool after hours walking the heritage town.
Breakfasts and dinners at Manda de Laos, the hotel restaurant, were a combination of Laotian delights and French breads and coffee. We loved all the fresh herbs and spicy foods. Salty fish sauce contrasted perfectly against sweet cakes and delicious crispy bread.
