Thetraveljunkie.org – The Japanese Restaurant Nishimura was one of our great discoveries in Aomori. It’s a small restaurant with a fantastic view and charming atmosphere on the 10th floor on the Aomori Prefecture Tourist Center (ASPAM).
We struggled to find it and we did have to ask around but although it is difficult to find someone who speaks English, Japanese people are truly helpful and the guy we asked was kind enough to walk us over to the restaurant’s door. It’s just another example of how courtesy, and not English, is a universal language.
We found this restaurant by chance, looking where to eat good local cuisine on side and we ended up eating everything but the sweets.
The miso soup was delicious and the rest… we can’t remember what it was. You have to order your food by looking at photos or what I ate (tempura, sushi, sesame tofu, yams, ichigo ziddu, gindara miso cod, yuba) in most places.
We’ll go back and we hope to do soon!
A big thank you Japan National Tourism Organization, ANA, and my readers for following and supporting me on this journey!
And now the question is, where shall we go next?
