Thetraveljunkie.org – I visited Stockholm in Sweden for a city of experience and my choice of hotel was the one and only the Bredängs Vandrarhem Stockholm. Cozy and clean lodging in a friendly hostel 10km south of the City. Only 500 meters to Metrostation, yet on the outskirts of a forest reserve and a short walk away from the beach at lake Mälaren.
Arrival
To be brutally honest, my city of experience started at the Arlanda Airport. For me, Stockholm is my second home. I got out of the airport at 1am, I looked for a Flybussarna to central station and moved to metro to Bredängs. Stockholm is a compact city with short distances from place to place. The choise are many, and getting around the city is easy, safe, and convenient. Happy everything… This is Stockholm!
The wow factor! What was the hotel decor style? I arrived at 1.59am and I have to say I was quite surprised. The hostel is very clean, beautifully decorated and I love it. And to think I know the area so well and never heard of this hidden gem.
How quick and efficient was the hotel check-in? Well, extremely efficient. On the bus I got a message for my key and room number. And I just took everything at the front office.
Wi-fi – was I told anything about it? Was there a charge? Obviously there was wi-fi and worked well during my stay.
Room Experience
First impressions – decor, size and wow factor? My room was very well designed for the hostel. The whole hostel was incredibly tasteful and felt very inviting and warm. IKEA is everywhere!
The bed? Was comfortable with excellent pillows. I love IKEA!
Power sockets in useful places – we have more and more devices and we know where we want them! By the bed, by the working area. Yes yes and yes. All very positioned and I used them all!
Bathroom – decor, size and wow factor? The bathroom was very clean, very smart, simple and good for everyone.
Bath, shower and taps – I am looking for Duravits and Hansgrohes (or other fab brands) around the world. How fab was the shower? A fabulous shower room, which a very smart shower head.
General thoughts:
How good and reliable was the wi-fi? Very good and I did not have a problem.
Location? Brilliant. Like I said, a friendly hostel 10km south of the City. Only 500 meters to Metrostation, yet on the outskirts of a forest reserve and a short walk away from the beach at lake Mälaren.
Would I recommend it to my best friend? Absolutely. I felt very much at home at the hostel – very comfortable and very safe. The staff were excellent.
Would I stay again? Without a doubt. I was very impressed with Stockholm.
