Thetraveljunkie.org – Wat Bovornniwet (also Bowonniwet, Bavorn Niwet or just “Wat Bovorn”) is the must-go to place to visit in Bangkok if you like Thai Buddhist temple and heritage, and if not, well you should still go because you’ll definitely enjoy it. The temple was established in the early 1800s when Prince Mongkut, then a monk known as Phra Vajiranyano, became the abbot of Wat Mai, a smaller temple predating Wat Bovorn.
Wat Bovorn is open every day. Keep in mind however that this is sacred ground to the Thais, so it’s important for both men and women to be respectful by wearing clothes that covers the knees and shoulders.
An adventure means not knowing what to expect next. His dream? Traveling an entire year and deciding spontaneously which destination will be next. ?? #ThaiAirways #AmazingThailand
