What To Eat at Bo.lan Balance Restaurant, Bangkok

Thetraveljunkie.org – When in Bangkok, we went to Bo.lan Restaurant (an Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant) for dinner. Bo.lan’s authentic Thai cooking draws influence from the country’s fiery street food and home cooking traditions as well as its more refined Royal Court-style cuisine. Only the tastiest organic, locally sourced products are used. Talking about Thai food, it was certainly one of our favorites.

Having moved location a couple of year ago, it is now one of the most glamorous restaurants in the city. The space has a contemporary feel with plenty of beautiful untreated wood, while maintaining a rich, traditional Thai ambience.

And we ordered Yadong Ma Kratueb Rong served with local sour fruits, Bo.lan amuse bouche, single plate of the day, salad of fresh cucumber and Ao Phang nga banana prawn with orange chili dressing, stir-fried tender pork with Andaman shrimp paste and santol, grilled chili relish of Isan style herbal-fed chicken served with grilled squid, Sap Nok Style curry of Chachoengsao Duck with ginger and long yard bean, Old style Hot and sour soup of market fresh fish, accompaniment of the day, dessert, Jasmin Kor Khor 105 from Yasothorn or organic gaba rice harvested.
