I am a big fan of White Shoes & The Couples Company. Wooooohoooooo… White Shoes & The Couples Company Sings Indonesian Folk Songs.
EP Special Edition. Only a limited amount of 1000 copies made. Series numbered. Stamped from number 0001 to 1000. In this Mini Album contains 5 songs, namely: Jangi Janger, Tjangkurileung, Te O Rendang O, Lembe-Lembe, and Tam Tam Buku.
For the most part, the recording process of this minialbum was specifically done live at Lokananta recording studio in Solo, from 25 to 28 October 2012.
This was done as a tribute to the heyday of Indonesian pop music and, of course, to Lokananta. This collection of recorded songs is like a journal that chronicles our experiences in reviving the sparkle of the golden era in the Indonesian pop music yesteryear.
It has an oeuvre by the legendary Pasundan artist Mang Koko Koswara in “Tjangkurileung”, a classic Malay nursery rhyme type of song “Tam Tam Buku” a.k.a “Trang Trang Kolantrang” or “Chock Chock Kundong”, the legendary Broery & The Pros styled Amboina serenade in”Lembe-Lembe”, as well as a pop song in Moluccas lingo, refined and sung by our latest favorite forgotten figure, Max Lesiangi.
